the honest company: my favorites

I recently restocked my supply of a few of The Honest Company's products that I use so I decided to share my favorites with you.  I purchase all of The Honest Company products at Buy Buy Baby or Target.  This is not a sponsored post I just felt like sharing some short and sweet thoughts on each product because I know it can be overwhelming with all of the products on the market.  I think the few extra bucks is totally worth it when you are using "honestly" safe and non toxic products.  Also, it's not things I have to purchase frequently so I justify it that way.

The multi surface cleaner was one of the first products I had used from the line and it gets the job done!  I love the light white grapefruit smell.

I bought this hand soap when Norah started feeding herself and I just felt like regular dish soap was too harsh on her hands so I gave this a go and really like it.  I love the lavender and lemongrass scents.

This toothpaste is a new product to me but I have used it a handful of times and it definitely feels different but it works.  They also have a children's toothpaste that we will probably try out soon.

I have used this dish soap ever since Norah was born.  We used it to soak her bottles in hot soapy water before sterilizing and I still use it for her sippy cups and paci's today.  It also suds up like normal soap.  Suds make me feel like a soap is working! :)

The floor cleaner is also a newer product but I have nothing but good things to say about it!

I keep a bottle of this hand sanitizer in my diaper bag and one at home.  Its quick, easy and effective!

I recently started carrying a package of these wipes in my diaper bag to use on the go when Norah needs her hands wiped before eating.  I feel like the normal wipes leave a taste and stickiness that I have to wipe her hands off but these do not do that at all.

If you are just going to be out in the sun for a few hours and getting dressed again I wouldn't recommend this sunscreen because it is pretty greasy.  BUT it does amazing at repelling water and staying on your skin so it's perfect for a full day at the beach or pool.

We also use the detergent mostly for Norah's clothes.  One product I have tried that I wasn't a fan of is the gel hand sanitizer.  I felt like when you rubbed it in it didn't soak into your skin at all.  Other than that you can tell I absolutely love this line of products and highly recommend them!  I'd love to hear if you have any favorites!

diy: gel nails

I love the look and shine of gel nails.  I also love that gel nails are way more durable.  But, I hate that they ruin my nails!  I've tried many products & tricks to get the gel nail look at home and I feel like I finally found the best, at least for now!

I used this gel polish for my base coat.  I used a regular OPI polish for color and did two coats to make it look opaque.  Then, I topped it with one coat of the gel polish.  I didn't use any other top coat.

The two photos below were taken five days after painting my nails.  No chips at all and the shine didn't ware off!

I've done a second "test" and I'm looking at my nails as I'm typing and there is only one noticeable chip and I painted my nails, in the car, on Thursday and it's now Tuesday!

I bet you're wondering now if it's hard to get off?  Not at all.  It actually peels off easy and comes off with remover just as quick as traditional polish.  I'm sold!

easter 2015

I know it's been said many times before but holiday's are SO much better with children!  You would have thought Norah had hunted eggs one hundred times before this past weekend.  It was so adorable that she knew exactly what to do & made my heart so happy watching her have so much fun!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend celebrating with loved ones.

I completely forgot to take a family photo & I'm so sad about it!  Sunday evening we celebrated with friends and I'm glad we took this photo because it's the only one I have with all three of us.

Another wonderful Easter is in the books!
